Manufacturer’s Intent: Our goal with this new release was to make an even better version of the original 505C. We tried several different options but settled on making one minor tweak and updating the cover to match up better with today’s bowling environment.
Core: We kept the original Kinetic core shape due to it’s past successes. We changed the core material which allowed us to slightly raise the RG and lower the overall differential. The core modification gives the new 505C² more push through the front part of the lane thus storing more energy for the back end of the lane.
Cover: Updating the cover was the most important change we made with the 505C². Our Gen MC (Moderate Continuation) coverstock creates less friction in the oil compared to the cover we used on the original 505C.
Finish: The final step that completes the ball development process is the finish. Having the right finish allows for the perfect combination of core and cover to shine for a wider variety of bowling styles. For the 505C², we went with 800/1000/2000 Abralon® polished w/PowerhouseTM Factory Finish Polish. This finish process allowed the 505C² to glide through the front part of the lane, producing the continuation we were looking for at the back end.
Overall: The 505C² is ideal for medium to dry lane conditions. The combination of our highly successful Kinetic core and our Gen MC cover make this a must have for league and tournament bowlers alike. Every bowler has that “go to” ball. This will be your “go to” ball.
